November is Career Development Month

Louisiana Career Development Month is celebrated annually in November by proclamation of the Governor of Louisiana. The observance is in keeping with the National Career Development Association’s celebration of National Career Development Month. Activities and events are offered throughout the month to highlight the importance of lifelong career development, and to raise career awareness among people in all stages of life. One of these events is the Poetry and Poster Contest sponsored in Louisiana by LCDA, and at the national level by NCDA. Students and individuals are invited to enter the State contest, with the winning entries forwarded to the national contest. National winning entries are posted on NCDA’s website at www.ncda.org. Additionally, businesses and industries are encouraged to offer career-related activities such as open houses for students, job shadowing and cross training opportunities, and assistance with employee career development planning.

Please join us in celebrating Career Development Month. For more information contact LCDA.
